Very Successful Regional Director Retreat!!!

posted Jan 11, 2013, 7:11 PM by SCS Administration

Hello everyone,

I would like to thank all of you that participated in the SCS Regional Director Retreat, 2012-2013. I was very excited to see the level of engagement and commitment from all of you. I hope the information and resources provided was very helpful and useful. Please remember to share the information with your scholars or others you meet whether it be through the events/activities you host, on your campus, or just in a networking opportunity. Remember, NETWORKing goes beyond professional help or service, it can be social, emotional, financial; every relationship is purposeful and it is what you make it. I learned a lot myself and I could not be more proud to work with a group as amazing as you! I hope you all enjoyed our networking dinner at Roscoe's, too. Double mmmhs to those waffles! We will post pictures on the SCS facebook page as well as in the Scholar Monthly, so be sure to look out.

Please welcome new region, UC San Diego, and overseeing RDs, Richard Kizzee and Allan Cheng, to the SCS Regional Directors family. Thank you both for joining us and I look forward to working with you both in the near future. Please let me know if you have any questions on the training or documents I sent you two. Thanks again!

Also, here are the notes from the retreat, which I have also emailed all RDs. So for all whom were not able to make it out, you will have access to this information. We made folders for all regions, so for those whom were not represented at the retreat, please email me so we can make other arrangements. I will not send out the compiled RD Report for the past Fall semester/quarter until I receive all reports. The following regions need to submit their reports (and other documents if you have not done so already) by January 16th, 2013:

Cal Poly SLO
Franklin and Marshall

Special thanks to Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church for their continued service to South Central Scholars in letting us use the venue. Thanks to Stephanie Graham and Rickie, the chef, especially for the access. I would also like to thank SCS Staff, Amparo Diaz, Calvin Williams, and Mr. Winston, for your help in setting up the retreat, participating, and/or taking the lead on logistical and material/supply needs. This retreat was even more successful because of you!
